OUR MISSION



The mission of Powell Dance and Singing Center is to cultivate individual artistic expression through performance and provide quality instruction in a fun environment that enhances the student's individual goals – whether they be recreational or pre-professional. At Powell, we understand that quality training cannot be rushed. Each child who studies singing and dance, whether for recreation or as a professional, is entitled to instruction that is tailored to the individual student and presented with patience and precision.

As a dancer, my mind and being were so engaged with music and movement that my mind was always with dance. There were pictures in my head. Every sound I heard registered as movement in my mind. Explosions of colors! It was exhilarating! I was constantly thinking how I could use this or that in my dance. How to make each movement count. Be better. Be stronger. Grow. Learn. Shape. Form.
I have you to thank for that. I have you to thank for so much more. I still see and hear things
in a visual way. Ways that don’t always make sense to others. It’s different now.
Not quite as vibrant but so much a part of me.
